2020 was quite a year, and it is hard to believe DIA Global 2021 is in full swing! While we wish we could see you in person, our Mednet team is available throughout the virtual conference. So much has changed in the industry, and we are eager to learn, reconnect and reengage.

As we reflect on the past year and our work with our pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and CRO customers, it is clear the impact of COVID-19 has been transformative on the industry. While some transformation was already in progress, it is clear the pandemic accelerated the progress. It highlighted the importance of some existing needs and established new requirements while also creating an urgency for change.

In addition to the impacts of the pandemic, the proliferation of new data sources along with new tools like patient wearables and devices is dramatically changing clinical trial designs. Given the rapid evolution and potential for innovation, we’re particularly looking forward to the educational content this year. Several sessions this year are focused on topics related to decentralized trials, real world evidence and opportunities for patient engagement. A few in particular we plan to attend include:

  • #113 SL: Technology Changes Needed to Manage Drug Supply for Decentralized Trials
    Monday, June 28, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM US/Eastern
The session will explore how technology in research product supply management can enable decentralized trials.
  • #206 CH L: Acceleration of Clinical Research by Simultaneously Leveraging Real-World and Clinical Trials Data
    Tuesday, June 29, 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM US/Eastern
Presenters will discuss how research teams are linking clinical trial and real-world (RWD) datasets, the visibility it provides and the value for key disease categories.
  • #312 SL: Real Talk About Artificial Intelligence and Automation in Clinical Research Today
    Wednesday, June 30, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM US/Eastern
Sponsors and CROs will discuss how they are successfully leveraging automation in their clinical trial processes, including how they got started and how they are benefitting.

DIA 2021 is also once again designated as a “PATIENTS INCLUDED” meeting, which means the program is committed to incorporating the experience of patients – as experts in living with their condition, while ensuring they are neither excluded nor exploited. Given the evolution of trial designs, the increasing use of wearables and real-world evidence (RWE) and the importance of patient engagement, the focus on patients is more important than ever.

From decentralized trial designs to real world evidence (RWE) in trial design to increasing automation in processes, we see the steady call for transformation and the need for greater flexibility. Any kind of change requires some degree of flexibility. As life sciences teams face the struggle of managing complex trials and looking for ways to shorten timelines, flexibility inherently becomes essential to success.

At Mednet, we prioritize flexibility in our product design. We understand how changing requirements, complex regulatory obligations and novel science converge in clinical trials. We also understand the role that technology plays as a foundation for innovative science. Mednet is showcasing our comprehensive, flexible platform, iMednet, as a Virtual Exhibitor at DIA 2021. Visit us in the Exhibit Hall, check out our product information and schedule a live demo. And, when you engage with us before or during the live virtual meeting, you can earn incentives and entries into our grand prize drawing. As the world opens up and we gradually get back to normal, we’re excited to raffle off two $500 airline vouchers you can use for your next getaway.  Learn more.

Though we wish we could meet in person, we look forward to interacting with our industry colleagues and engaging in all of the great content presented at DIA 2021. We hope to ‘see’ you this week!
